Incomplete bowel movements, also known Rectal Tenesmus is another common IBS symptom. An incomplete bowel movement is essentially the feeling that you are never done or feel complete evacuation of your bowels. It is almost a cross between constipation and diarrhea.

Often the cause of incomplete bowel movements may be due small loose stools which trigger the need to use the restroom, but can be hard to pass in a timely manner. There is also a condition called Levator Syndrome which can cause a feeling of pressure or even pain, which can simulate the feeling of needing to use the restroom.

IBS incomplete bowel movements may be helped by fiber, anti-diarrheal medication, calcium or mint.
