A Sonogram is a medical technique used to view inside the body without surgery or radiation. Sonograms use sound waves to penetrate into the body and then reverberate back. Depending on what is beneath the surface sound may not reverberate as strongly or at all. Advance imaging techniques take this data and turn it into an image.

Sonography is generally a safe and effective way to image things inside the body. There are some cases where soft tissue inside the body can become damaged or inflamed. The chances of this happening are very slim and only a major concern if you’re receiving sonograms on a regular basis. For checking your gallbladder you’ll probably only need one sonogram to rule it out as the cause of your symptoms.
